← Back to homeThese Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and BikeCityHub (“we”, “us”, “our”) governing your access to and use of the BikeCityHub mobile application, website, and related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, tapping “I Agree”, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms in full. If you are using the Service on behalf of yourself, you represent that you have the legal capacity to accept these Terms.
2. Description of the Service
BikeCityHub is a social platform for cyclists that lets users discover nearby riders, create and join group rides and events, share their live location during a ride, track ride history and statistics, chat with other members, and access optional premium features. BikeCityHub is a technology platform only. We do not organize, supervise, insure, or guarantee the safety of any ride or event created by users, and we are not a party to any arrangement between an event organizer and participants.
3. Eligibility and Account Registration
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract to create an account. You are responsible for providing accurate registration information, for keeping your login credentials confidential, and for all activity that occurs under your account. You may register using email/password, Google, or Apple sign-in. We may refuse, suspend, or delete any account at our discretion, in particular where we believe the registration information is false or the account is used in violation of these Terms.
4. Acceptable Use
When using the Service you agree not to:
- harass, threaten, stalk, or endanger any other user;
- post illegal, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit, or violent content;
- impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation;
- use the Service to advertise, solicit, or conduct commercial activity without our written consent;
- attempt to interfere with, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users’ accounts;
- upload viruses or malicious code; or
- use location or profile data obtained through the Service to track, contact, or harm another user outside the Service.
We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with or without notice.
5. Rides, Events and Assumption of Risk
Cycling and group riding involve inherent risks, including but not limited to traffic, road conditions, weather, equipment failure, collisions, and the conduct of other riders or third parties. Events and rides listed in the Service are created and organized by individual users (“Organizers”), not by BikeCityHub. Organizers are solely responsible for the planning, safety arrangements, and conduct of their events. BikeCityHub does not verify an Organizer’s identity, experience, insurance, or the accuracy of an event’s difficulty, route, or distance information.
6. Location Sharing and the Live Map
Certain features, such as the Live Map and live ride tracking, require access to your device’s location and are only active when you choose to enable them. Sharing your real-time location has real-world safety implications, including making your location visible to other users you may not know personally. You control this sharing through in-app settings, including “Ghost Mode”, and may disable it at any time. You are solely responsible for deciding when, where, and with whom to share your location, and for your own safety when meeting other users in person.
7. Steps, Calories and Wellness Features
The Service can count your steps automatically using your device’s motion sensors and show related information such as walking distance, speed, estimated calories burned, daily goals, and home-screen widgets. These features require your permission, are optional, and can be turned off at any time in the app or in your device settings.
You are responsible for the goals you set and for exercising within your own limits. Counting depends on your device, how you carry it, and your system settings, so results may differ from other apps or devices. Step data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. User Content and Community Chat
You retain ownership of the content you submit to the Service, including messages, profile information, and event descriptions (“User Content”). By posting User Content, you grant BikeCityHub a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. You are solely responsible for your User Content and represent that it does not violate these Terms, applicable law, or any third party’s rights. We use a combination of automated and human moderation and provide reporting, blocking, and muting tools; however, we do not pre-screen all content and are not responsible for content posted by users. We may remove any User Content at our discretion.
9. Subscriptions and Payments
The Service may offer optional paid subscriptions (such as “Premium” or “VIP”) that unlock additional features. Prices, features, and billing cycles are shown in the app or app store listing at the time of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period, in accordance with the policies of the app store (Google Play or Apple App Store) through which you purchased the subscription. Refunds are subject to the applicable app store’s refund policy; BikeCityHub does not process payments directly and cannot guarantee refunds. We may change subscription features or pricing prospectively, with reasonable notice where required by law.
10. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, graphics, logos, and the BikeCityHub name and trademarks, is owned by BikeCityHub or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license to use the Service as intended, no rights are granted to you in our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service, or reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code, unless permitted by law or with our prior written consent.
11. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, at any time and without liability, if we believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in conduct that harms other users or the Service, or as required by law. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time through the app’s profile settings. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 7, 9, 12, 13, and 14) will survive.
12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BIKECITYHUB AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND PARTNERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, ANY RIDE OR EVENT, ANY OTHER USER’S CONDUCT, OR ANY CONTENT POSTED ON THE SERVICE — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. TO THE EXTENT LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) USD 50.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BikeCityHub and its officers, employees, and partners from any claim, liability, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or connected with: (a) your use or misuse of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your User Content; or (d) your participation in, or organization of, any ride or event.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which BikeCityHub is legally established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence provide otherwise. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation by contacting us at the address below; if not resolved, it shall be submitted to the competent courts having jurisdiction over BikeCityHub, unless applicable law requires a different forum.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service or applicable law. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Contact Us
